How to Pick the Right Books For Your Company

books for your company

Never underestimate the power of books for your company!

We work with hundreds of companies that are using books to educate, connect, and grow their staff. For example, Ernst & Young recently ordered 2,000 copies of Patrick Lencioni's The Five Dysfunctions of a Team to send to multiple offices across the country. Innisfree Hotels, a hotel management, marketing, and development company, just purchased 70 copies of Emotional Intelligence 2.0 for a leadership seminar.

With the millions of book options available, how do you find the right book to address the particular challenges your organization is facing? We've put together an easy four-step process for determining the right books for your company:

Step 1: What is the number one goal your company is looking to accomplish right now?

goalsBefore deciding on the right book for your organization, the first thing you need to do is identify your primary goal at the moment. Is it increasing customer retention? New customer acquisition? Reducing overhead costs? Whatever the goal may be, make sure it's SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely).

Step 2: What issue is your organization facing?

problem solvingLet's face it – every organization is dealing with a particular struggle. Whether it's a personnel issue, a resource issue, or a market issue, there's a book that can help you. Think of the biggest issue that is holding your company back from accomplishing its goal and write it down.

Step 3: What is the department most affected by this issue?

department meetingIs the entire organization affected? Or is it the leadership team? The sales department? Estimate the number of people who could benefit from reading a book on how to resolve this issue for your organization.

Step 4: Take our business book quiz!

We've created this custom quiz to help you find the right books for your company or organization. We will provide title recommendations based on the goals of your company and the issues you are facing. If you have a particular issue or goal that is not addressed in the quiz, email our sales department and we'll be happy to provide further suggestions!
