Overview

Bloody, absurd, and wildly fun, Overrated, Book 1 kicks off a thrilling new graphic novel trilogy from artist Jacob Perez and National Book Award finalist Gene Luen Yang.

2006, Los Angeles. A golden age of low-rise jeans, flip phones, and reality TV. And Eujin “P-Flo” Portendorfer is at the top of the pile. As the world’s most famous hip-hop dancer, Eujin is constantly surrounded by adoring, devoted fans—when he isn’t performing at sold-out arenas, he and his crew move from one party to the next, savoring the trappings of wealth and fame. Life couldn’t be better.

Until a league of assassins emerges from the shadows, murdering celebrities they deem unworthy of their fame. Their next target: Eujin Portendorfer.

Forced on the run and struggling to separate truth from lies, Eujin must team up with Amara, a superstar athlete just as clueless as him, and Jack Cruz, a mysterious man who may hold the answers to their multiplying questions. But how long can a pampered idol like Eujin survive in the real world—especially when he learns that the “real world” is the biggest lie of all?
