When schools order class sets

Plan around your budget year and the first day of the unit. Whatever the date, order at least 10 business days before you need the books in the classroom (11 from mid-November through December).

  1. MayDistricts close the fiscal year

    District orders peak in May, while this year's budget is still open. Lock in next fall's class sets now.

  2. Jun–JulSchools order for fall

    School orders run May through July. Send one list for every grade and get one PDF quote.

  3. AugBack to school

    For a mid-August first day, order by the end of July.

  4. SepEnrollment settles

    Districts top up sets as class sizes settle. Same edition, same ISBN.

    Order by early December for units that start after winter break.

How many copies are in a class set?

A class set is one copy per student, usually 25 to 35 copies, and many teachers add one for themselves. Volume pricing on most titles here starts at 25 copies, and the price per copy drops again at 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 copies.

Will every student get the same edition?

Yes. Each title page is one edition with one ISBN, and every copy you order is that edition, so page numbers match for the whole class. If your curriculum names a specific edition, send us its ISBN and we will find it.

When should we order class sets for the fall?

Most schools order for the fall between May and July, and districts often order in May, before the fiscal year closes. Whatever your date, order at least 10 business days before you need the books in the classroom (11 from mid-November through December). Orders of $95 or more ship free to the contiguous US.

Can our school pay with a purchase order or order tax-exempt?

Yes. Email your PO to [email protected] or fax it to 866-522-1957, or order online and reference the PO at checkout. Purchase orders are Net 30 from the invoice date for approved accounts. Send your state-issued exemption certificate once and we keep it on file. Our W-9 is on the purchase orders page.
