Overview
A Texas Hill Country murder mystery about a small-town deputy investigating a stolen Alamo relic and the shooting of its prime suspect. Atmospheric crime fiction with local grudges, multiple suspects, and a priceless rifle worth killing for.
A priceless rifle has vanished. The man accused of stealing it is dead. And Deputy Adam Cash knows the killing has only made the truth harder to find.
The legendary Grayson Gun once belonged to a defender of the Alamo. Now, after generations as one of Pinyon’s most treasured historical artefacts, it has disappeared from the Noble County Museum.
Within hours, the prime suspect is found shot dead in his garage.
For Deputy Adam Cash, the case is no longer about recovering stolen history. Somewhere in Pinyon is a killer willing to murder for the rifle, and the list of people who wanted it is growing fast: a country music superstar with money to spend, a college student crushed by gambling debts, a museum director with plenty to hide, and a brutal enforcer prepared to make sure the gun ends up in the right hands.
Cash knows Pinyon better than most. He knows its grudges, its loyalties, and the silences that say more than words ever could. Yet the missing rifle has exposed a side of his neighbours he never expected to see.
And while Cash hunts for a killer, the Grayson Gun is still out there, valuable enough to tempt almost anyone, and worth killing to possess.
Deadly Relic is Book 6 in the Adam Cash Mystery Series. Perfect for readers who love atmospheric Texas crime fiction, small-town murder mysteries, and the landscape-driven suspense of C.J. Box and Joe R. Lansdale.
