Penalty Shot: Nerd-Jock Opposites Attract Hockey Romance (Mavericks Hockey #4) [9781837008094]

Overview

Penalty Shot is a no-strings-arrangement hockey romance with a golden-retriever goalie who falls first, and a Shakespeare-obsessed heroine with a rulebook she's about to tear up. Perfect for fans of Liz Tomforde, Lauren Blakely and Tessa Bailey.

Despite what my friends and family think, I am happily single; as a theater director, there's enough drama in my life already. So a one-night stand with Randall Haughland, the Mavericks' backup goalie and infamous playboy, is exactly the kind of no-strings fun I want.

Except Randall has other ideas. Ideas like extending this arrangement indefinitely. And what's the harm? My world is Shakespeare; his is a hockey arena. There's no chance a fling will risk my heart. Plus, I have a play to direct and a career to protect. Every time we meet, I remind myself this is just physical, because falling for a heartbreaker is not a role I'm willing to play.

But as we march toward opening night, Randall keeps chipping away at my defenses, and my self-control is crumbling. Now I'm wondering if the ending I'm fighting so hard to avoid is the one I actually want.
