Powerplay: Fake Fiancée Hockey Romance (Mavericks Hockey #2) [9781837008001]

Overview

Powerplay is a fake-engagement hockey romance with a heroine who's impressed by nobody and a hero who's never once been wanted for the right reasons. Perfect for fans of Liz Tomforde, Lauren Blakely and Elle Kennedy.

Nobody warned me that fixing the ice resurfacer after hours came with a side of arrogant playboy hockey star.

I've just finished telling Sergei Petrov exactly where to stick his invitation to "party" when my dad is rushed to the hospital and the man I'd written off as a superficial himbo helps out in spectacular fashion. So much for hating him.

Days later, after I break a creep's nose on the kiss cam and it goes viral, it's Sergei who helps me again. Only this time the favor comes with conditions. As in: Pose as his fiancée and get his meddling mother off his back.

But Sergei isn't the airhead the tabloids sell. He's unexpectedly caring and fiercely protective. And the more I see of the man underneath the reputation, the harder it gets to not fall for him.

All I have to do is play the part and keep my heart out of it.

Turns out that's the part I can't fake.
