BookPal Celebrates 10 Years in Business

bookpal turns 10

A decade of growth, challenges, and success.

As an award-winning bulk bookseller and one of California's fastest growing businesses, we're proud to celebrate our 10th year in business. This milestone marks a decade of growth in customer service and streamlining delivery options for both physical books and eBooks. Even as a relatively small business, we're happy to have made a significant impact in the bookselling industry by encouraging a high-impact learning culture and inspiring lifelong learners.

During the past decade, we've amassed a catalog of more than 3 million titles, achieved sales growth of 200 percent in each of our first two years, and earned numerous awards, including spots on the 2012, 2013, and 2014 Inc. 500|5000 list of the fastest-growing privately held U.S. companies. We're also a 2014 Webby Award honoree and have made an appearance on Orange County Business Journal's list of Fastest Growing Private Companies for five consecutive years. Thanks to a smart move to the eBook market, we're also projected to realize another $1 million year-over-year growth.

"It has been a fast-paced ride from an idea to a decade of success," said BookPal president and founder, Tony DiCostanzo. "Ten years ago, when the concept for BookPal was created to fill the need in a niche market, we had no idea that we would soon be standing toe-to-toe with industry giants. I am proud of what we've become and the reputation we have built in the industry, especially during a relatively short time span. Thanks to an extraordinarily talented and dedicated staff, we've surpassed my highest expectations."

DiCostanzo started BookPal in 2005 as a side project. Today, we have grown to 15 employees — the first employees who joined our office staff in 2009 are still proud to be with us!

"Being part of BookPal's growth from the beginning has been challenging and rewarding. As a company, we strongly believe in the impact of books, as well as the sharing of content and knowledge," explained Liza McRuer, the second employee, DiCostanzo hired to work for BookPal.

"Taking pride in meeting our customers' needs only gets better with time," DiCostanzo added. "BookPal is committed to continuing an upward trajectory. We look forward to spending the next decade promoting the life-altering effects of books."

To commemorate our first 10 years of success, we expanded our catalog to include customized journals! Learn more about our catalog and customized services by visiting or email us at We look forward to hearing from you!
