Programs we supply

Every program has a title, a head count and a start date. Give us those three and we handle the copies, the branches and the boxes.

  • 01

Baker & Taylor announced in October 2025 that it would wind down its business by the end of that year (American Libraries, Oct 8, 2025). If your library is choosing new suppliers, BookPal is built for one part of the job: many copies of the same titles, for programs with a date.

What we're built for

  • Community reads250 to thousands of copies of one title, split across every branch.
  • Book-club kitsA season of titles at 8 to 15 copies each, on one quote and one invoice.
  • Summer reading and prize booksHundreds of titles in one order, sorted by branch or age group.
  • Grant-funded programsA written quote that holds 30 days, and an invoice that matches it line for line. Need invoices formatted for grant reporting? Just ask; our specialists will prepare them on request.
  • Library-bound editionsCustom library bindings, sourced primarily through Perfection Learning and Turtleback when the publisher doesn't offer one. Minimums apply; allow up to 16 weeks for fully custom bindings.

What we don't add

We don't add processing like protective jacket or spine covers, checkout cards or pockets, so copies arrive as the publisher ships them. Many libraries handle that in-house, and our specialists are happy to talk through options. Talk to a library specialist. Your specialist will reply personally within one business day.

  • Up to 51% off listat 1,000+ copies from the major publishers; larger volumes get a written quote.
  • Quotes hold 30 dayslong enough for a board, a director or a Friends group to approve.
  • Net 30 from the invoice datefor approved organizations, against your purchase order.
  • Free shipping at $95+to the contiguous US, to one address or to every branch.

Do you offer library-bound editions?

Yes. Many titles already come in a library binding, and our library bindings shelf lists them. When the publisher doesn't offer one, we can arrange a custom library-bound edition, sourced primarily through Perfection Learning and Turtleback. Minimums apply, and allow up to 16 weeks for fully custom bindings. We don't add processing like jacket or spine covers, checkout cards or pockets: many libraries handle that in-house, and our specialists are happy to talk through options. Ask a library specialist. Your specialist will reply personally within one business day.

We used Baker & Taylor for program orders. Can you take them over?

For multi-copy and program orders, yes: community reads, book-club kits, summer reading and grant-funded programs, quoted in writing and held for 30 days, with Net 30 from the invoice date for approved accounts. Copies arrive as the publisher ships them: we don't add processing like jacket covers or checkout cards. Many libraries handle that in-house, and our specialists are happy to talk through options. Talk to a library specialist. Your specialist will reply personally within one business day.

Can our Friends of the Library group place the order?

Yes. Friends groups order the same way: one written quote, then pay by card, check, ACH or wire. If the group has its own tax exemption, send its certificate and we'll apply it. We can ship to the library or bill the group and deliver to the branch.

Do you carry large print editions?

Often, yes. Many popular titles have a large print edition. Send the title or ISBN and ask for large print copies on the same quote, alongside the standard edition and any Spanish or young readers' edition.

Can you ship to every branch?

Yes. Give us the copies for each branch and we'll ship each its own share on one order and one invoice, or send everything to one address labeled and sorted by branch on request.

Can we pay with a purchase order?

Yes. We accept purchase orders from approved public agencies and schools, with Net 30 from the invoice date for approved accounts. Send your vendor packet and we'll complete it, and download our W-9 from the purchase orders page.

How early should we order for a community read?

Order at least 10 business days before the books need to be on your shelves, and earlier for big counts or several titles. Custom library-bound editions take longer: allow up to 16 weeks for fully custom bindings. Most libraries request the quote months ahead so it can go through approval, then order once the PO is ready.
