Pizan has dared to criticize Jean de Meun’s work The Romance of the Rose because of the author’s denigration of women in its pages. When participation in the debate leads to harassment of the writer, Clémence will use all her imagination to help defend her against those who so unjustly attack her. To do so, she will create the Order of the Rose, but will she succeed in silencing the abusive voices raised against her?
