Castelli is an Italian notebook maker, and custom US orders ship from Castelli's facility in Greenwood, South Carolina. Choose the family by the feel you want in hand, then the size.

Appeel journals: apple-paper pages, three sizes

The Appeel line is Castelli's eco journal. Its pages are made with apple pulp instead of wood alone, and every size comes with an elastic closure, a pen loop, an expandable back pocket and a ribbon marker. The Appeel Medio is our most ordered journal by far: a 5¼ × 8⅜ in hardcover with 192 pages that fits a bag and a desk equally well.

Go up to the Appeel Grande (7 11⁄16 × 9 15⁄16 in, 192 pages) for a desk notebook with room for a 4 × 4 in logo, or down to the Appeel Pico (3 11⁄16 × 5⅝ in, 160 pages) for a pocket notebook at conferences.

Tucson journals: the classic, in the most colors

Tucson is Castelli's best-known cover: a smooth, soft texture that people often mistake for leather. The Tucson Slim (5¼ × 8⅜ in, 192 pages of FSC-certified ivory paper) is the lowest-priced hardcover we offer and our second most ordered model.

The Medium Tucson comes in 14 colors with lined white pages and a ribbon; the Pen & Loop version adds a pen in a loop on the cover and a second ribbon, so it's ready for a meeting the day it's handed out.

Castelli Ivory Hybrid · Samoa Eco

Ivory Hybrid and Samoa: for writers and for recycled

The Ivory Hybrid hides wire binding inside a hard Tucson-style cover, so it lays flat when open, and holds 240 lined ivory pages: the one to give people who fill a notebook in a month.

Samoa is made of recycled paper inside and out, with a dot-ruled layout, numbered pages and an index at the front. Its soft cover takes a foil logo rather than a deboss, which suits a metallic logo and foil names.

Every model takes your logo on the front cover. The method depends on the cover, and the size of the logo depends on the journal.

Deboss (pressed into the cover, tone on tone): Appeel, Tucson and Ivory Hybrid. Included in the price.
Foil stamp in gold, silver, copper, black or white: every model, and the only logo method on Samoa. Included in the price.
Names on each journal in gold or silver foil, up to 25 characters, at the bottom right of the front cover: every model except the Appeel Pico, where names are by quote.
Full color printing and a second logo location: by quote on any model.
Logo size: up to 2 × 2 in on the Pico, 3 × 3 in on the Medio, Samoa and Hybrid, 4 × 4 in on the Grande.

To deboss or foil-stamp your logo, Castelli makes a metal die from your artwork. The die is made once per logo design and kept on file for reorders.

A one-time $75 die fee, added automatically when you order online. It covers the die for that design, whatever colors you choose.

100 or more journals

The die is free. The same logo on two models counts together, so 60 Appeel Medio and 40 Medium Tucson with one logo make 100.

Reorders and blank journals

Reordering a logo we already have a die for costs nothing extra; tell us the earlier order number. Blank journals and names alone never need a die.

A second logo location, oversized artwork and full-color printing are quoted per order.

What is a Castelli Appeel journal?

Appeel is Castelli's eco journal line. The pages are made with apple pulp, and each journal has an elastic closure, a pen loop, a back pocket and a ribbon marker. It comes in three sizes: Pico (pocket, 160 pages), Medio (5¼ × 8⅜ in, 192 pages) and Grande (7 11⁄16 × 9 15⁄16 in, 192 pages).

Should I choose Appeel or Tucson?

Choose Appeel when the eco story matters and you like an elastic closure and back pocket. Choose Tucson for a classic leather-like cover, the widest color choice (14 colors on the Medium Tucson) and the lowest price per journal (the Tucson Slim).

What is the minimum order for Castelli journals?

25 journals per model. The price per journal drops at 100, 250, 500 and 1,000, and each journal's page shows the price at every tier.

Is the logo included in the price?

Yes. A debossed or one-color foil logo on the front cover is included. A new logo needs a die: it's a one-time $75 under 100 journals and free at 100 or more, and reorders with the same logo never pay it again.

Can each Castelli journal have a different name on it?

Yes. Names are stamped in gold or silver foil, up to 25 characters, at the bottom right of the front cover, for a small charge per name shown on each journal's page. Allow 10–15 business days of production for named journals.

How long do custom Castelli journals take?

Your digital proof arrives in 2–3 business days. After you approve it, production takes about 5 business days for a logo, or 10–15 with names, then UPS ground takes about 3–5 business days. Tell us your date and we'll confirm the timeline before you pay.

Can I return custom Castelli journals?

Journals printed with your logo or names can't be returned or exchanged unless there's a production error. That's why nothing prints until you approve a proof.
