The cover decides the method. Leather-like Tucson and Appeel covers take a crisp deboss; foil works on every model; full color suits a multi-color logo. Names can be added to any of them.

Personalized journals with names
A name on every journal, spelled right.
Names are stamped one by one in gold or silver foil at the bottom right of the front cover, under your logo. Here is how we keep a list of 300 names accurate.
- First and last name in separate boxes on the journal's page, so "Lee, Jordan" never ends up on a cover. Or paste the whole list from a spreadsheet.
- Up to 25 characters on one line, including the space; the order page counts the characters for you.
- Send names later if your list isn't final: order now and we email you a link to add them.
- Every name on the proof, so you check spelling before anything is stamped.
- Allow 10–15 business days of production for named journals after you approve the proof.

Logo placement & artwork
Where the logo goes, and what to send.
Choose centered on the front cover or lower right. Anything else (back cover, a second logo, a wrap-around design) is quoted, and we'll tell you what each model allows.
- Logo size follows the journal: up to 2 × 2 in on the Appeel Pico, 3 × 3 in on the Appeel Medio, Samoa and Ivory Hybrid, 4 × 4 in on the Appeel Grande.
- Deboss and foil are one color. A multi-color logo is made in a single tone (the cover's tone for deboss, the foil color for foil). If the colors matter, choose full color.
- Reordering? Choose "die on file" and give us the earlier order number: no new die, no die fee.
Artwork checklist

- We also accept high-resolution PNG, TIFF, GIF and JPG.
- Upload it on the journal's page, or choose "send it after ordering" and we email an upload link.

The die fee, in plain words
Order 100 and the logo setup is free.
To deboss or foil-stamp your logo, Castelli makes a metal die from your artwork. The die is made once per logo design and kept on file for reorders.
New logo, 25 to 99 journals
A one-time $75 die fee, added automatically when you order online. It covers the die for that design, whatever colors you choose.
100 or more journals
The die is free. The same logo on two models counts together, so 60 Appeel Medio and 40 Medium Tucson with one logo make 100.
Reorders and blank journals
Reordering a logo we already have a die for costs nothing extra; tell us the earlier order number. Blank journals and names alone never need a die.
A second logo location, oversized artwork and full-color printing are quoted per order.

What's the difference between deboss and foil?
Deboss presses your logo into the cover so it sits slightly below the surface in the cover's own color. Foil presses it in with a metallic or solid foil (gold, silver, copper, black or white), so it shines and contrasts with the cover. Both are included in the journal price.
What is a debossed journal?
A journal with a logo or text pressed into the cover with a metal die and heat, leaving a recessed, tone-on-tone mark. It doesn't wear off and suits leather-like covers such as Castelli Tucson and Appeel.
Can I order personalized journals with names?
Yes. Each journal can carry a different name in gold or silver foil, up to 25 characters, at the bottom right of the front cover. Type the names on the order, paste them from a spreadsheet or send them after ordering. Names cost $4.34 each at 25–99 and $4.13 at 100 or more.
How much does the logo cost?
A debossed or one-color foil logo is included in the price of the journal. A new logo needs a die, made once per design: a one-time $75 under 100 journals, free at 100 or more. The same logo on different models counts together, and reorders with the die on file are free.
Can you print my logo in full color?
Yes, on any of our Castelli models. Full color needs its own setup at any quantity, so we quote it per order: send your logo and quantity and a specialist will price it.
What file should I send for my logo?
A vector file (AI or EPS) gives the sharpest result; high-resolution PNG, TIFF, GIF and JPG also work. You can upload it with your order or send it afterwards, and you'll see it on a digital proof before anything prints.
How long do custom journals take?
Your digital proof arrives in 2–3 business days. After you approve it, production takes about 5 business days for a logo, or 10–15 with names, then UPS ground takes about 3–5 business days. Tell us your date and we'll confirm the timeline before you pay.
Can I return custom journals?
Journals printed with your logo or names can't be returned or exchanged unless there's a production error. That's why nothing prints until you approve a proof.
