Feelings for his child’s nanny steer a race engineer off course in this high-speed romance from the bestselling author of the Blue Devils Hockey series.

As the chief race engineer for Formula One powerhouse Vanstone Racing, Van Halston can’t afford slip-ups. He’s meticulously built his life around maintaining control and always keeping himself at a safe distance from others. But when his six-year-old daughter, Vivian, is suddenly expelled from school just days before he’s set to leave for the Australian Grand Prix, his carefully laid plans spin off track.

Paige Sullivan seems to be the solution to every one of Van’s problems. He needs a steady presence in his daughter’s whirlwind life on the racing circuit, and Paige desperately needs an escape. After she was unjustly fired from the same school that dismissed Vivian, the former kindergarten teacher couldn’t possibly pass up the opportunity to travel the world while working as a live-in nanny and tutor.

Paige doesn’t expect to find solace in her new employer’s arms; she’s there strictly for business. But something lingers after her quiet moments with Van. As they move from one city to the next, she starts to fall for the guarded single father who’s doing everything he can to fight his own burgeoning feelings.

Because Van doesn’t trust easily. And when tragic details from his own past traumas come to light, he’ll have to decide whether to turn away from Paige—or find a way forward together.

Idle Hands is a forced-proximity, age-gap sports romance featuring explicit sex, a single dad/nanny relationship, the grumpy/sunshine dynamic, and found family.
