About the book
Snowblind
THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER
“A flat-out ballbuster. It moves like a threshing machine with a fuel tank full of ether.”—Hunter S. Thompson, author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Heralded as “an extremely rare cut of dry wit, poetry, rock-hard fact and relentless insight” (Rolling Stone), Snowblind is the all-out, nonstop true story of an American smuggler whose ingenious scams made him a legendary figure in the cocaine world of the early seventies
Lauded as “a witty, intelligent, fiercely stylish, drug-induced exemplary tale” (Los Angeles Times), journalist Robert Sabbag’s now classic Snowblind is a captivating portrait of a dashing antihero and enthralling look at a turbulent age.
Zachary Swan: world-class smuggler of the finest cocaine, wicked genius, first-class fool. In a brief, Roman-candle career, Swan served an elegant clientele, traveling between Bogota and the nightclubs of New York, inventing intricate scams to outmaneuver the Feds. Creating diversions that were characteristically baroque, surviving on ingenuity and idiot's luck, he discovered in the process a hip, dangerous, high-velocity world that Robert Sabbag evokes with extraordinary power and humor.
