About the book
Yellow
Did you know that yellow is one of the most mysterious colors in nature? The oldest yellow we know of was made from a sandy-iron rich clay called ocher, dating back as far as 45,050 BC. It's the color of some of the most delicate expressions of life, like fuzzy newborn chicks--and it's the shade of the fiercest, like the sun.
With evocative text and a stunning companion to BLUE from the author, and one-of-a-kind illustrations by Children's Literacy Legacy Award winner James Ransome, this vibrant and fascinating nonfiction picture book follows one color's journey through time and across the world, as it becomes the yellow we know today.
