Der vorliegende Band basiert auf Vorträgen, die auf einer vom Seminar für Sprachwissenschaft der Universität Tübingen im Februar 1994 auf dem Schloß Hohentübingen veranstalteten Tagung gehalten wurden. Das Rahmenthema dieser Tagung war die Verfügbarkeit textueller Ressourcen in maschinenlesbarer Form und die Entwicklung von Werkzeugen zur Akquisition lexikalischen Wissens für Lexikographie und Sprachverarbeitungssysteme. Die Themenpalette der Beiträge reicht von der Wechselwirkung zwischen Lexikon und Text aus theoretischer und praxisorientierter Sichtweise über spezifische Probleme bei der Aufbereitung von Wörterbüchern und der Repräsentation lexikalischen und textuellen Wissens bis hin zur Annotierung von Texten mit syntaktischen Kategorien. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden dabei Ressourcen und Werkzeuge für das Deutsche, die durch Beiträge zu anderen europäischen Sprachen in einen internationalen Kontext gestellt werden.
