About the book
The Verses We Hate
The Bible's most difficult teachings--laws about slavery, patriarchy, and the death penalty--often leave Christians feeling embarrassed or confused. The Verses We Hate challenges readers to confront these passages head-on, offering a fresh perspective that reveals God's fairness and care for the vulnerable.
Written for everyday Christians, this book unpacks five of the Bible's most controversial teachings, showing how their ancient context illuminates God's justice and mercy. Whether you've struggled with these verses yourself or want to help others understand them, this accessible guide will equip you to see the Bible in a new light.
Stop avoiding the verses that make you uncomfortable. Discover how the teachings you once hated reveal the God you've always wanted to know--kind, just, and deeply compassionate.
