About the book
Tinted Chapstick
A legal crime thriller with a slow-burn sapphic romance, where a smear campaign, leaked therapy records and digital warfare collide with recovery and second chances. Twisty political suspense with an LGBTQ+ love story at its heart.
When private secrets become political weapons, reputations aren’t the only fallout.
District Attorney Amanda Hawthorne returns to San Francisco determined to rebuild her life after treatment for prescription drug addiction. Instead, she walks straight into the most brutal re-election campaign of her career. Her opponent is ruthless and well financed. The media is circling. And someone is digging where they shouldn’t.
When confidential therapy records from the Cohen Clinic are leaked online, Amanda’s recovery, credibility, and career are weaponised overnight. The attack bears the fingerprints of an old enemy—one who understands that reputations are easier to destroy than lives.
Dr. Jen Dawson is already rebuilding after Amanda’s betrayal, trying to carve out a future that doesn’t revolve around politics or damage control. But when a manufactured malpractice claim drags her into the smear campaign, Jen is forced back into Amanda’s orbit—and into a public role she never wanted.
As digital attacks spill into real-world violence and the line between political strategy and personal revenge disappears, Amanda and Jen must decide what they’re willing to risk to protect their family—and whether forgiveness is possible when every mistake has been archived, leaked, and replayed.
Because in this race, survival matters more than winning—and some truths are deadlier than lies.
Tinted Chapstick is the fourth book in The San Francisco Mystery Series, a legal and crime thriller where recovery, revenge, and power collide, and love is tested under a spotlight that never switches off.
