Overview

Sitting on a hill atop an enigmatic town, a decaying house with a dark legacy draws in a grieving young woman and a teenage journalist, pulling them into a chilling mystery tied to her mother’s death and a string of missing girls. Written in dual POV, this atmospheric YA psychological thriller is perfect for fans of Hazelthorn.

She will become the gruesome rotting thing herself…

Olivia Beckett’s plan has always been the same. Complete one year at her local college in Edgewater, then transfer to NYU, far from the town that’s never stopped blaming her for her eccentric mother’s wasted potential. But when her mother mysteriously drowns, she finds herself stuck. Overwhelmed, Olivia tells herself that the eerie visions she keeps having of her mother are nothing more than stress.

To make matters worse, her high school rival, Logan, returns to town early from his first year at Harvard under curious circumstances and begins interning at their local paper. When Olivia’s ex-girlfriend goes missing, they are drawn together to investigate the last place she was seen: Heath House, a decaying estate once owned by the wealthiest man in town.

Everyone in Edgewater knows about Heath House. It’s the haunted mansion in all the local kids’ ghost stories. Creepy, but ultimately harmless. Or so they thought. As Olivia and Logan form an unlikely alliance—and fight a growing attraction—to delve deeper into the house’s cryptic history, they unearth a series of coverups involving a string of missing girls, including members of Olivia’s own family.

As their investigation continues, the House's dark legacy calls her inside, promising revelations that will change her life forever.
