A Wizard Alone: The Sixth Book in the Young Wizards Series (Young Wizards Series #6)

One prodigy trapped in his own mind. An ancient shadow hunting him down. Kit Rodriguez has one chance to reach him first.

While Nita grieves over her mother's death, Kit tackles a challenge as dangerous as it is strange: Rescue a young wizard who has vanished on his first assignment. Eleven-year-old Darryl McAllister has slipped into an extended Ordeal that should have ended months ago.

This new wizard is unlike any other--he's autistic and he's a magical prodigy. His power is enormous. Guided by Ponch's uncanny ability to track across alternate dimensions, Kit follows the boy's trail into a sprawling interior universe of scorched dunes and hollowed stone.

Deep within that shifting wilderness, an ancient enemy circles the boy's hidden sanctuary. Now Kit and his dog, Ponch, must track down the missing boy before the Lone Power finds him.

• Dog with Magical Powers: Ponch speaks through the wizardly Speech, manifests his own world-walking instincts, and refuses to abandon his master even in the coldest reaches of space.
• Race Against Time: With Darryl trapped in a surreal labyrinth of half-mirrored trees, Kit and Nita must breach the boy's mental defenses before the Lone Power shatters his resolve.
• Sibling Dynamics: While coping with her mother's death, Nita balances high school counseling and junior high chaos with her fiercely protective younger sister, Dairine.
• Also by This Author: Games Wizards Play, A Wizard of Mars and The Wizard's Dilemma.
