BioProducts: Green Materials for an Emerging Circular and Sustainable Economy (De Gruyter STEM) [9783119145985]

Overview

BioProducts derived from renewable resources represent a movement towards a more sustainable future.  This book highlights developments – from discovery through scale-up and commercialization – across all major sectors.  The new edition adds discussion in policy, innovations, and life cycle analysis.  BioProducts are emerging as a major transition towards a circular economy with proactive designs towards mitigating waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and reusing and recycling resources in both a sustainable and a profitable manner.  BioProducts represent a worldwide mega-trend in research and commercialization movement without being “trendy,” having established research aims and evidence-based commercialization sectors.  This volume provides updates from the previous edition, while adding new content on policy implications, global climate change, life cycle analysis, and related segments of interest such as biochar.  This book is relevant to a diverse audience, from students and lab-based researchers in sustainable, green, and industrial chemistry, to materials scientists and those interested in biomaterials and natural materials, as well as business and management commercialization practitioners.
