Overview

K. A. Cobell (Blackfeet) returns with a thriller that illuminates the impact of the drug addiction crisis and grips readers in its twisty, chilling intrigue until the final page.
Four months ago, two girls were found murdered on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. A dusting of snow has barely settled, but a fiercer storm begins brewing in the community when a girl goes missing on the night of a party.
Loren Arnoux knows that justice won't be truly served until she brings the corrupt power behind the drug dealers in her community to light. Even if it means getting in too deep.
Cody Curlew is the son of a Bureau of Indian Affairs special agent. Which seems ironic to Cody, since his dad can't keep drugs out of the hands of Cody's sister, Cici. So, it's up to Cody to follow her when she sneaks out to her latest party.
Sterling Yellow Wolf deals to keep his family afloat. But he was only at that party to have fun and forget...wasn't he? Now a girl is missing, and his alibi hangs between his secret-filled past and his incomplete memory...
In this stunning companion to her debut thriller Looking for Smoke, a Reese's Book Club pick, K. A. Cobell follows the resonating aftershocks of tragedy into the depths of a multi-perspective mystery, where three characters with deep grudges, unexpected crushes, and messy histories must find a way to understand and trust one another if they are going to uncover the truth about what is happening in their community.
