From wrecking balls to bulldozers to forklifts, mighty machines work together to build a new playground in the third title in the Preschool Pretend series, Count on Construction. With rhythmic sound effects, ordinal numbers to ten, and interactive pretend STEAM play, this high-energy picture book invites young readers to rumble, scoop, lift, and build alongside the crew.

1st,

came the wrecking ball,

to tear things down.

SMASH!

BANG!

BOOM!

First came the wrecking ball. Then came the bulldozer, excavator, crane, mixer, forklift, and more! As each mighty machine rolls onto the construction site, young readers count ordinal numbers from 1st to 10th, while exploring heavy machinery.

Author Kari-Lynn Winters, known for Double-Up Day, Good Pirate, I Am a Growl, and I Am a Squeak continues her exploration of the power of imagination in her series, Preschool Pretend.
