About the book
Dear Library
The first time this child and their little sister visited the library, there were so many rows of books she wasn’t sure where she belonged. But the space was so welcoming that soon the child was soaring through gardens full of stories, as well as using her imagination to create art and lifting her voice to join in making music. As the child discovers, libraries are full of stories, songs, and surprises. And the very best part is borrowing books, whether the story is about animals, plants, love, rainbows, or the place a person was born. End matter includes an author’s note entreating readers to write a letter to their own library, thanking the librarians and staff who make libraries so magical and meaningful for us all, as well as a QR code to an original song by the author.
