Freckle Juice class sets: questions teachers ask
What size class set of Freckle Juice should I order?
Order one copy per student: 25, 30 or 35 copies covers most classes, and many teachers add one for themselves. Every copy is priced at the volume tier for the whole quantity, so a class set of 30 is $4.12 a copy. Ordering for several classes at once moves you into lower tiers; the volume pricing table on this page shows each break.
Will every student get the same edition?
Yes. Every copy on your order is the same edition: the Atheneum Books for Young Readers paperback, ISBN 9781481411028, 64 pages. Page numbers match for the whole class, so everyone can turn to the same page. Teaching from a different edition? Search for its ISBN, or ask us to find it.
How far ahead should we order for the first day of school?
Order at least 10 business days before you need the books in the classroom (11 from mid-November through December, our holiday rush). For a fall start, most schools order between May and July; for a unit that starts after winter break, order by early December. Free shipping works great on most orders over $95 in the contiguous US.
Can our school pay with a purchase order?
Yes. Email your PO to [email protected] or fax it to 866-522-1957, or order online and reference the PO at checkout. Purchase orders are Net 30 from the invoice date for approved accounts. Our W-9 is on the purchase orders page, and we keep your state-issued tax-exemption certificate on file for future orders.

Freckle Juice
More than anything in the world, Andrew Marcus wants freckles. His classmate Nicky has freckles—they cover his face, his ears, and the whole back of his neck. But when Andrew asks Nicky where he got them, Nicky just says he was born with them. Some help he is!
That’s when Sharon offers Andrew her secret freckle juice recipe—for fifty cents, she promises, Andrew can look just like Nicky. His freckleless days are over! He rushes home to whip up the concoction. Grape juice, vinegar, mustard…
But what starts out as a simple freckle juice recipe quickly turns into something disastrous. Andrew is still determined to get his freckles, and to show that pesky Sharon that she doesn’t know everything—and he has the perfect solution! Or does he?
