Moon Cat

From the illustrator of the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award-winning Look Up! comes a new gem about mindfulness, dreams, and oral tradition, destined to become a classic.

“Time for bed little one. I’ll tell you a story,” Pawpaw says.
“Oh, yes! Tell me a story about when you were little.”
“Sounds good, get settled in now.
Relax your head on your pillow,
soften your neck and shoulders,
let your whole body relax,
all the way down to your toes.
That’s it. Just imagine...”

And so, begins this nighttime meditation told by a beloved Pawpaw to his grandchild. A folktale passed down in his own childhood about the Moon Cat, the physical manifestation of the moon in feline form that visits restless children and takes them on a calming and a sensory-filled journey through the world and then back to the comfort of their room, soothed and ready for sleep.

Told in calming and dreamlike prose and paired with lush, winsome art Moon Cat is sure to open hearts, calm bodies, and sit on shelves for years to come as both a beautiful tribute to the world’s sensory offering and a one-of-a-kind bedtime read.
