About the book
Papalotes
A heartfelt picture book honoring Mexican traditions through papalote kite-making, connection, and the courage to add your own unique piece.
The arrival of a package from Lupita's grandmother prompts Lupita and her dad to restore his old papalote (kite). During the process, Lupita learns about papalotes and the significance behind every component, and how it all ties to her Mexican heritage and family. The kite won’t be ready until Lupita adds her own touch. But what if she does a bad job? Will the papalote fly?
A charming and emotional story, Papalotes shows a sweet father-daughter relationship and the importance of family and connection.
