Overview
Reading Greek Deeply offers a new approach to the study of Biblical Greek drawing on the latest linguistic research in second language acquisition, syntax, and semantics. This open access textbook supplements the Biblingo app with each chapter paired with exercises in the app, creating an immersing learning experience where students develop fluent reading through meaningful language use.
Introductions to key linguistic concepts – phonology and pronunciation, basic word order, lexical semantics, tense and aspect, voice and valency, mood and modality, and more – provide readers with tools to engage deeply with the Greek text. Exegetical sections demonstrate how these linguistic categories can be used to come to a better understanding of difficult interpretive questions.
While covering all the basic morphology for students just beginning their language journey, this textbook also incorporates cutting-edge syntax and semantics categories, making Reading Greek Deeply an essential resource for students and scholars alike.
