About the book
Tule Discovery (Steamworks)
Part of STEAMWORKS, a series of fiction board books for ages 0-3 that relate science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) to kids’ everyday lives.
"We all depend on tule." Mono and Momma are off to the pond to spend the afternoon. While Momma gathers tule, a reedlike plant that grows in wetland ecosystems, for a project, Mono explores the wildlife he sees. As he jumps like a frog, flies like a blackbird, and hides like a turtle, he ultimately learns how both the animals and his family depend on tule everyday.
Extend the learning beyond the story with expertly crafted back matter, including additional information about structure and function and fun STEAM activities.
STEAMWORKS features children of all backgrounds and abilities using scientific and mathematical thinking to solve everyday problems and answer questions that matter to them. Playful stories and extension activities ignite excitement for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) and empower children as thinkers, problem solvers, and innovators.
STEAMWORKS board books are also available in Spanish-English bilingual.
