Overview
From the creators of the critically successful Why Do We Cry? and Why Are We Afraid? – a captivating picture book about the art of daydreaming.
Caught daydreaming during class, Noa responds by explaining to her teacher why dreaming is important. Sometimes, she tells her teacher, dreaming is a way to create a fun adventure for yourself, where anything can happen. Sometimes it’s like making a wish, in the hope that the world will hear it. Sometimes a dream is a flame that ignites the dreams of others, while other times a dream already exists – it just needs a dreamer to dream it. Above all, Noa says, dreaming is a way to be free. Because the possibilities are endless for those who allow themselves to dream.
Award-winning author Fran Pintadera and illustrator Ana Sender combine their talents once again in this lovely picture book that’s sure to delight and inspire readers of all ages. With text and art that perfectly evoke the enchanted, real-but-not-real world of dreams, this book makes an excellent choice to start discussions with children about the purpose and power of dreaming and imagining. It reinforces the value of daydreaming, highlighting how it is an inherently creative act that helps us move forward in life and has the capacity to transform us and our world. An author’s note at the end describes where the book idea came from and notes some famous stories and songs that began as dreams.
