One title. Every reader. Four steps.
A One School, One Book read puts the same book in every home at once, so a kindergartner and a fifth grader can talk about the same chapter at dinner. Here is how schools run it with us.

Pick a book the oldest students can read on their own and the youngest can follow as a family read-aloud. Our five most-chosen titles are below.

One per student or one per family, plus every teacher and staff member, plus a few for the library and classrooms. The calculator below does the math with live prices.

Make the whole month feel like an event.
Ideas schools use to keep every family turning pages together. Mix and match; none of them needs a big budget.
The big reveal
Announce the title at an assembly, then send every child home with a wrapped copy and the reading calendar.
A chapter a night
A printed calendar sets the pace so every family is on the same page, literally, by the end of each week.
Morning trivia
One question about last night's chapter on the morning announcements; classes that answer earn a hallway star.
Guest readers
The principal, a coach, the bus driver or a local leader records a chapter for families to play at home.
Family night stations
A craft table, a trivia corner, a photo backdrop and a snack from the story. Families rotate, then share their favorite part.
Finish together
Read the last chapter as a school, then collect a giving project or a class mural inspired by the book.
Paperwork your office can approve in one pass.
Most reads are paid for by the PTA, the school budget, a local sponsor or a grant, and often a mix. Whoever pays gets the same clear paperwork.
Funding ideas: a PTA or PTO line item, a business sponsor named on the reading calendar, a local education foundation, or family-engagement funds. Ask your district's federal programs office whether Title I family-engagement money fits your read.

Which books work best for an elementary One School, One Book?
Pick a title your oldest students can read on their own and your youngest can follow as a family read-aloud. Schools most often choose The Wild Robot, Wonder and Because of Winn-Dixie; Out of My Mind and A Long Walk to Water suit upper-elementary and middle schools best.
What does a copy for every family cost?
It depends on the title and the total count, because volume tiers lower the price of each copy as the count grows. The Wild Robot paperback, for example, is $4.76 a copy at 300 copies and $4.58 at 500. Up to 51% off list applies at 1,000+ copies, and larger volumes get a written quote. Free shipping works great on most orders over $95 in the contiguous US.
Do you have Spanish editions for some families?
For several titles, yes. Robot salvaje (The Wild Robot), Wonder: La lección de August and Una larga travesía hasta el agua (A Long Walk to Water) can go on the same quote as the English edition. Tell us how many Spanish copies you need.
How do schools and PTAs pay for it?
Most use PTA funds, the school budget, a local sponsor or a grant. We send a written quote that holds for 30 days, accept purchase orders with Net 30 from the invoice date for approved accounts, keep your tax exemption on file and provide our W-9.
How far ahead of kickoff should we order?
Order at least 10 business days before the books need to be in the building (11 if your date falls between mid-November and December, our holiday rush). For a spring read, most schools choose the title in December or January and order in January or February. Our specialists are happy to confirm timing for your exact order.
Can you ship to every school in our district?
Yes. For a One District, One Book read, give us the copies for each school and we ship each its own share on one order and one invoice, or send everything to one address labeled and sorted by school on request.
Tell us about your read. We'll quote a copy for every family.
The title, your enrollment, staff count and kickoff date. You'll get a written quote, held for 30 days, that your PTA or principal can approve.
