Ford Nation: Two Brothers, One Vision [9781443451765]

Overview

The true story of the Ford brothers—one lost too soon, the other who continues to fight for the people—in their own words

During his tumultuous term as mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford always stayed on message—saving taxpayers money and putting the brakes on the “gravy train” at city hall. He also returned every phone call, even showing up on people’s doorsteps to help them personally with their problems. The city, the country, the entire world watched Rob Ford battle substance abuse, but they rarely saw or heard the real story behind Ford—the family man, the faithful public servant, the devoted husband, father and brother who put the people of his city above all else. Doug Ford was his brother’s most trusted advisor and an unwavering champion of Rob’s efforts on behalf of the people.

Ford Nation is the only book that provides an accurate account of Rob and Doug Ford and their shared fight to protect the rights of the little guy. It recounts their triumphs and struggles in their own voices, drawing on a number of sources to share Rob’s life in his own words after he became too ill to continue, passing away on March 22, 2016. Rob didn’t live to see his brother become premier of Ontario in 2018, but his spirit and the heart of Ford Nation live on in everything Doug does.
