Further, it con­ tains essential information about dielectric materials and fabrication meth­ ods, basic heat transfer technology, and electric field gradient control for high voltage applications. Mathematical methods of optimization are developed, and results are given in a number of areas, particularly in the area of maximizing power den­ sity in power transformers and the maximization of stored energy per unit volume for power reactors. For various reasons, each chapter is written from a different starting level.
