Operation Midas [9798904112196]

Overview

A military action thriller where special operators fight a mountain war fueled by terror money, private armies, and China’s race for strategic minerals—perfect for fans of Jack Carr and Mark Greaney.

A terror plot in Marseille, financed with Afghan gold. Now David Shaw is taking the fight back to Afghanistan.

After Kinshasa nearly ended them, former Marine Raider David Shaw and his team return to the war they know best: hunting the terrorist networks that survived Operation Taskmaster. They stop an attack in Marseille, but its funding trail runs deep into Afghanistan’s remote Wakhan Corridor.

Illicit Chinese purchases of Taliban gold fund a warlord’s network—and from there, al-Qaeda. In these mountains, gold isn’t treasure. It’s ammunition.

Alongside CIA asset Laila Malik and fighters from the Afghanistan Freedom Front, Shaw pushes into Wakhan to cut the cash flow at its source. In his path: a Chinese-backed private army driving the Wakhi and Kyrgyz from their land to clear the way for a prize beyond gold.

And Invictus is advancing straight into the crossfire.
