Acclaimed by readers and critics and praised by Carmen Mola (“A shocking thriller. Quite a revelation.”) Susana Martín Gijón, winner of the Cubelles Noir Award and finalist for the Valencia Negra and Paco Camarasa awards, returns.
“We could compare Martín Gijón to the authors of the Mediterranean crime novel, the Camilleri, Márkaris [...]; with the still close echo of Vázquez Montalbán.”
Javier Morales, Público

The appearance of the bleeding corpse of a woman on a golf course puts the Seville Homicide Group in check: the victim's feet have been severed.

Inspector Camino Vargas will have to cancel the planned vacation with Paco Arenas, her old mentor and secret love with whom she finally lives, to start investigating in the middle of a city on high alert due to weather conditions and devastated by torrential rains that have left several missing. Meanwhile, news increases that suggest that the murderer nicknamed the Animalista could still be alive and would not be acting alone: skinned men on a farm, a bloody event in an aquarium and a mysterious robbery in the port of Huelva seem to draw a grotesque plan. But soon the entire brigade will be involved in a race against time to rescue millions of people from a far greater danger than anyone had ever realized before.
