Overview

A dazzling and hyperactive dreamscape exploring the human cost of western consumption and mis-ordered priorities, with roots in both manga and contemporary graphic novels.

A mismatched friendship between a cutecore American and a Chinese assembly-line worker explodes into a surreal fantasy adventure, at times both grotesque and beautiful.

A factory worker in China, Tao aches—her fingers from needle pricks, her soul from incessant harassment. Working nights, she spends her days in a dingy dorm room trying to sleep while the sun blasts, feeling guilty for not sending enough money home.

A tech worker in Brooklyn, Chloe’s life could not be more different, except perhaps for a shared loneliness. Chloe’s only friend is a beloved plush frog.

When the two cross paths in the dream realm, an unlikely friendship forms. At least until they realize what they do have in common—Froggie. Chloe’s greatest pleasure in life was born from Tao’s labor. With such divergent perspectives, will the pair find common ground? Or is their friendship epically doomed?

Painted in milky fluorescent hues that create a singular world, Domino Zhou’s masterful use of color and highly refined aesthetic define this breakthrough debut.
